Minister of State in the Ministry of National Security, the Hon. Juliet Cuthbert-Flynn delivered remarks at the Grand Opening of the Carl Rattray Staff College Gym in Runaway Bay, St. Ann.

She highlighted the Ministry’s continued commitment to the welfare and development of the dedicated members of the Department of Correctional Services (DCS).

Speaking at the grand opening today, Minister Cuthbert-Flynn noted that “the gym is a symbol of our commitment to your welfare, may it serve as a reminder of our dedication and commitment to the Department of Correctional Services.”

In 2021, the DCS Wellness Programme embarked on a drive to upgrade the gyms located at the Spanish Town Prison Oval, Tower Street Sports Club and the Richmond Farm Sports Club by improving the overall aesthetics in addition to purchasing more gym equipment.

During the planning process the committee agreed to outfit the Carl Rattray Staff College with a state-of-the-art gym.
