The Department of Correctional Services offers a Life Skills Rehabilitation Programme, adapted from the National Youth Service Curriculum, to instill vital life competencies in inmates. The initiative is a key part of the Department’s holistic approach to rehabilitation.

In 2024, multiple cohorts of offender clients completed this programme, reporting improved emotional awareness and interpersonal skills.

Inmates shared that the programme fostered a positive atmosphere, with many reflecting that if they had known and applied these life skills earlier, they might not have ended up incarcerated.
