The Human Resource Management & Administration Division plays a vital role in supporting the operational efficiency of the Department of Correctional Services (DCS). It strategically manages the entire employee lifecycle, encompassing recruitment, appointments, promotions, employee support, and performance management. By ensuring the DCS is staffed with skilled and competent individuals, this division directly contributes to the smooth functioning of all departments and supports the overarching mission of rehabilitation, reintegration, and public safety.

Human Resource Management within the DCS is a strategic endeavour, focused on maximising employee effectiveness and productivity to achieve organizational goals. This involves aligning HR
practices with the DCS’ strategic direction through workforce planning, effective recruitment and selection, targeted training and development, robust
performance management, and positive employee relations.
